Business Casual Dressing

My offices dress code is pretty business casual, so my daily outfits usually consist of black pants and a sweater or button down, with heels or cute flats, and sometimes a dress with a cardigan. But none of my outfits ever cost me more than $100 and I never wear the same outfit to work twice. The secret is interchangeable clothes. I rarely buy a piece of clothing if I don't think it can be worn a different way or with a variety of different items, save for the occasional formal dress. Almost every item in my closet can be dressed up or down to fit into whatever environment I'm going to be in that day.

Every girl should have these essential in her closet:

  • White, plain cotton tank tops (without the built in bra)
  • At least one good pair of all black leggings
  • 3 or 4 (colorful) statement necklaces
  • Black skinny jeans
  • One white button up, collard shirt
  • Black pencil skirt
  • A black, nude and/or navy blazer

The black skinny jeans are my absolute must have from that list. If you through on a pair of black skinny jeans, layer the top with a white tank top and a cute blouse, or button up, a blazer and complete the look with a cute pair of pumps your business casual ready. But the beauty of this outfit is when you don't have time to change after work to go to dinner, or to run errands you just remove the layers: take off the blouse and blazer; switch out those pumps for some flats or flips (shoes you can carry in your purse) and you're done! How easy was that.

Check out my outfit for today:
