All in College

The Spark Notebook!

This past weekend while I was doing some blog research I stumbled upon this handy dandy new notebook prototype: The Spark Notebook.  This notebook is kind of revolutionary. Now I love the day designer, and I will be using that for my day-to-day planning and goal setting for my daily life next year, but for a blogger, a second planner is kind of necessary. And this one is perfect!

My Library Necessities

Its midterm season. Cue the exhausted sigh... now. I feel like I've moved into the library at this point, and oddly enough, I don't mind it. My school library has a little coffee shop in it called "The Procrastination Station". It sounds like a place you wouldn't get any work done but it's become the place where I'm my most productive (and like a second home.)

Day Planner Addiction

Every since I was younger I've had an obsession with cute notebooks. This obsession has since grown to a love of pretty agendas. While using my many pretty agendas I've found that there is not enough space to plan out my day or write all of the tasks I need to complete. This is where my day planner addiction began.

Branding Yourself

My first ever college career day is fast approaching (tonight to be exact) and over the past week I've been researching how to get my resume in tip top shape. An amazing blogger, Whitney Blake, wrote a killer article about how to make your resume amazing. Her biggest tip was branding yourself, regardless of whether you have a blog, small business, or a company. Create a personal brand to help make your resume cohesive as well as accurately represent who you want to be in your professional career.

It's officially back-to-school time! So you know what that means.... school supplies!! This is arguably my favorite time of the year (I have a serious obsession with school supplies, I know I'm a dork.) In honor of  this time I've put together some essential to always have in your backpack, and they aren't all just supplies.

Books You Need to Read Before College

Whether your an incoming college freshman, a busying high school senior, or an excited high school junior, anything that hints at the glorified life of college students is craved like comfort food. That craving is how I discovered the wonderful world of the college-prep section of Barnes & Noble. Here I found some amazing books that not only tell about what could happen in college, but also just general advice on friendships, family and being healthy.

Desk Organization

Having an organized desk space is not an exact science. Each person has different needs in a desk space and uses different tools at their desk. The first thing you have to do when you want to create an orderly desk space is to sit down and work at your desk. While you're doing that figure out what it is you actually use at your desk. Do you prefer pens or pencils? Loose paper or notebooks? Have you gone completely paperless or do you use a combination of both technology and paper?

I spent the afternoon in my soon-to-be college town today with my wonderful boyfriend, to get a feel for the town before my upcoming move-in date, and I couldn't be more in love with it! This is not the first, or tenth, time I've visited Amherst (I was actually born there), but ever since my first open house tour of UMass the fall of my senior year, Amherst has shown me why so many people come to love it.
